Chief Economist, iA Financial Group

Sébastien Mc Mahon is Chief Economist at iA Financial Group. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing the organization’s macroeconomic framework and helps shape the strategic decisions of investment teams, iA’s business units, and its clients.

Recognized for the clarity and rigor of his analysis, he plays a central role in integrating macroeconomic, financial, and geopolitical perspectives into the investment process. He also serves as a spokesperson for iA Financial Group on economic and market issues, both in the media and at institutional investor conferences.

Prior to joining iA Financial Group, Sébastien held roles at several key institutions within Québec’s economic and financial ecosystem, including the Autorité des marchés financiers, Desjardins, and Québec’s Ministry of Finance.

He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Université Laval and is a CFA charterholder.

Étienne Bergeron

Economist, iA Financial Group

Étienne Bergeron joined iA Global Asset Management in 2025, after building his expertise at PSP Investments. He began his career in 2018 at the Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer in Ottawa. He contributes directly to macroeconomic analysis and the development of strategic insights.

A trained economist and rigorous analyst, Étienne is known for his ability to convert complex macroeconomic signals into clear market outlooks, focusing on rate dynamics, financial conditions, economic cycles and structural risks. He works closely with the research, financial communications and portfolio management teams.
